The Utrecht University Medical Centre (UMCU) provides top-quality care by combining patient care, teaching and research. The UMCU is a teaching hospital. This means that the focus is on both patient care and scientific research, as well as imparting knowledge. For research and teaching, the UMCU works together with the Medical Faculty of the University of Utrecht. One major advantage of this intensive cooperation is that the most recent knowledge and insights are always available. This allows the UMCU to provide advanced care and treatment.
Situation
The Neurology department carries out research for which surveys are regularly sent out to colleagues all over the world. The survey was sent out by e-mail in the form of an Excel file. IQuality was approached to make this communication flow more efficient.
IQuality solution
IQuality built a portal known as ‘Brains’. Within this portal, the neurologists can use routing to compile their own surveys. The survey can be structured hierarchically, with a choice of yes/no, multiple choice or open questions. Once the survey is complete, it is sent to the selected colleagues via a mailshot. They can also log into the portal. At the UMCU, a running total of the completed surveys is kept. The colleagues who took part in the survey are able to see the results.
